Lobster Boy!

Happy Halloween! Look! It's a lobster!

DELICIOUS.

I just had to put up a picture of the hoodie he was wearing today too... a little monster hoodie :)

Atticus, meet Snow. Snow, meet Atticus.

It snowed last night. It's not the first time, but it's the first time since I bought Atticus a snow suit, and it looks like it's here to stay this time... sigh. You know my feelings about this. Luckily, the pain is somewhat eased by the fact that I have the cutest kid on the block, and watching him react to the snow was pretty much GREAT. Here are some pictures!

I tried to get a picture where he was both smiling (without the binky) and looking at the camera while sitting next to the tree... no such luck. So here is one of each.

He ate some snow. Side note about the snow suit: it has fold-over cuffs that act as mittens. Atticus kept looking at them like "What? Where have my hands gone??" and then he tried using them like paddles to put things in his mouth. As you can see here, he was semi-successful.

Gerber baby, huh? This is the last happy picture I got before he decided he was done with the snow.

I just had to throw this picture in here because he spends half of his time with his bottom lip in his mouth. I'm not sure if it's because he's teething in his two top teeth now, or just because he's discovered he HAS a bottom lip.

And lastly, having some fun in the front window! Look at those enormous wrists! "Rolly Polly, scrambled eggs for breakfast, bread a jelly twenty times a day..."

Praying for Stellan

If you look over to the right, you'll see I added a button that has a picture of a sweet baby boy that says "Praying for Stellan". A woman known as "MckMama" has a blog that I enjoy reading, a blog about her MSC (Many Small Children), nutrition, and her thoughts on God and marriage.

Well, while her youngest baby, Stellan, was still in utero, he was diagnosed with SVT, a big heart problem. They were told that he would die. He miraculously survived to be born at full term, and he survived a second severe bout with the disease when he was 4-6 months old. He's now about a year old, and had flipped back into SVT and is in the hospital.

Prayers for Stellan

If you click on the button, you will be taken to her blog, where you can read the whole story if you have some time.

The reason I'm writing this is because I'm hoping you will pray for this little man and his family. I can't even imagine what it would be like to have Atticus in the hospital, and I can't imagine that I would have half the composure and peace that MckMama seems to keep.

Dear Piper

Dear Piper,

It's 36 degrees outside. Where are you still finding mice to kill and leave around the yard? Now that the leaves cover up all of your dead little friends, I'm terrified to walk around the lawn. Not to mention that if you leave a dead mouse on our doorstep, and someone comes to our house before I've seen it, they think we're some kind of mouse crematorium. Or dead mouse orphanage. When Blake goes outside to play fetch, he sometimes brings a dead mouse (that I've missed due to the leaves) back in his mouth instead of his ball. Gross. I know you love to use and display your catly abilities, but this needs to end. Please go back to hunting grasshoppers. Thank you.

Love,

Michelle

Baby Sitter.

Look who learned how to sit up completely by himself!

He also learned how to look pretty gangsta in a hoodie vest.

A Man Experiencing Labor

This is for all you Daddies out there :) Do men really have a higher pain threshold? Of course, this isn't really accurate since everyone labors differently, and he didn't have any cute little babies waiting for him at the end, and he didn't even brush on the subject of pushing, but it's still a fun video.

California! Here we Come!

... Or there we went, anyway.

Our trip to Yuba City to see Grandma and Grandpa was GREAT!

Our second day there we went to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm, and we had a BLAST! Here is a picture of the Chief Hog himself:

That's his foot he's munching on, not his hand.

I thought about buying that pumpkin and hollowing it out for Atticus to live in, but then I thought he would probably just gnaw on it until it was gone.

I have a picture of my mom and I at the bottom of this slide when I was a baby, but I can't find it right now.

The cue ball being generally cute at Grandma and Grandpa's during breakfast. You see all that shiny drool? He's like a snail. He leaves a trail of slime wherever he goes.

We went to the beach on Monday with Chris and Lorna & Co., and naturally Atticus was most interested in playing with Kayla's pants for the first hour :)

Kayla and Ian were having so much fun!! Kayla and I even baked some sand-cakes and some sand-cookies.

Don't judge; I had already been boogie boarding at this point, so I look like a beast, but I thought it would be good to get a picture of both of us on the coast.

He is getting SO GOOD at sitting up by himself! He's even better than this now, he can sit up without his hands supporting himself for a couple of seconds.

In other Atticus news, he cut his two bottom teeth in the last week! Not so much fun, but at least he seems to be getting it over with quickly. Those razor sharp little gum knives are keeping us all on our toes until he gets used to them.
